Publishing Adventures in Brazil
Posted on August 15th, 2012
It has been a good year for travel! In August I was asked to go and speak at conference in Sao Paulo called Contec. There was a primary focus on literacy and education, but also some very interesting diggie innovations being showcased. I presented “Reader 2.0″; exploring the idea of Social Reading and how new devices, technologies and media facilitate interactive experiences. Transmedia is part of this but by no means the whole story. I also did a panel event: “Can Your Book Do That?” to which we answered YES (but know your product).
Joanna Ellis from the Literary Platform was fascinating, as was Jesse Potash from Pubslush. And the Copia, which is a social ereading platform. It is thrilling how new publishing models are emerging. Smart Quill is rethinking EVERYTHING for our new Digital Direction service.
Anyway, here is a picture of me watching Joanna present. Thanks to Carlo Carrenho at PublishNews Brazil for the shot.
